Additional Considerations
Your quilt may:
be pieced, or appliquéd
use one or multiple curved shapes such as:
gentle curves
wonky, improv curves or circles
quarter circles
half circles
full circles
include one or more modern characteristic:
negative space
no borders, unless part of negative space
minimalist, more negative space means greater minimalism
bright print or solid fabrics
high contrast
asymmetry, subject is not centered
exaggerated scale, blown-up blocks or components
pixelization, very small scale; an image is distorted to a fundamental digital composition
modern traditionalism, modern quilt design elements are applied to traditional blocks
improvisation
be made following a commercial pattern, but please consider challenging yourself to create an original design.

specialty curved or circular rotary cutting ruler
Specialty ruler suggestions include, but are not limited to:
Classic Curves Ruler
Drunkard’s Path templates, round- or oval-shaped
Finally some inspiration from LindaH’s own work

Enjoy this chance to experience what a challenge is meant to do - push yourself to create a quilt that’s a personal expression of you! As you go, please share your progress on social media - the fabrics you choose, the technique you’re trying, the method you’re using. Ask questions if you want help. Invite input. This is an opportunity for growth, and for members to encourage one another. Use #sfmqgcurvearound.
Always be learning!
