October Meeting Preview

Saturday, October 21st, 1pm-3pm
at Patch Reef Community Center

2000 W. Yamato Road, Boca Raton
doors open at 12:30

Our Saturday meeting is going to be jam packed, as we cancelled last month due to the hurricane.

Ice Breaker

Please bring any hurricane sewing projects you'd like to share with the group.

Events

Our VP of Events Andrea will be giving us a recap of the Shibori & Indigo Workshop. Please bring your fat quarters you made to share with the group.

Andrea will also give us some detail on the upcoming Melissa Averinos lecture and workshop. Don't forget, tickets are available so get yours before they sell out.

Book Cover Swap

Our book cover swap will be happening at the October meeting. There's still a few days to make one if you'd like to participate. You can find the tutorial here

BOM

Due to the storm, we are going to push the September block of the month to October. So, no need to worry about bringing two! Just bring your August block of the month to the meeting. Remember, more blocks entered means a higher chance to win.

Community Service

Susan and Wanda will be accepting quilts through the November meeting, but the sooner the better. They are aiming to drop off at the children's clinic in early December. In the mean time, if anyone has other quilts or tops in their stash they are welcome to bring them in anytime for future projects.

Other items on the agenda:

  •  Debbie S is going to be presenting a new challenge. I can't wait to see what it is!
  • Allison and Karla will be at the meeting to provide an overview for BQE.
  • Susan is still accepting pillowcases for Ryan's Case for Smiles. Please bring these to the meeting.
  • The destash table is available for November for anyone interested. The spot can be purchased in the store for $20. It's a great way to clear out some unused fabric/projects for the upcoming holiday season.

As 2017 winds down, we are looking for new board members. The current board will be explaining their positions at the meeting Saturday and looking for volunteers. Remember, it is only a one year commitment and is a great way to give back to the group.
